Recently, I came across a profound exercise in Maya Taichoora's visualization work that stopped me mid-listen (paused my audiobook). Taichoora, one of the UK's leading mental fitness and visualisation experts, invites us to ask a simple, yet transformative question: Who do I want to become?
The answer, she suggests, can be distilled into three power words.
"Every word you repeat, becomes a blueprint your mind begins to build from."
Why This Matters
High performers across every field are turning to visualisation as a non-negotiable practice. The words we choose to embody aren't wishful thinking - they're a declaration of intention that shapes how we show up and the presence we bring to each moment.
When you hold a word in your consciousness, something shifts. Your nervous system listens. Your mind aligns. Your belief strengthens. You become more likely to express it, lean into it, to be it.
Finding Your Three Words
This isn't about picking words that sound good, or impress others. It's about discovering the qualities that, when activated, make you feel most alive and capable.
Ask yourself: What version of myself do I want to step into? What three qualities would make me feel grounded, purposeful, and ready? Words that are entirely personal to you - not trendy buzzwords that sound good, but mean nothing to you.
For me, the three words that emerged are clarity, courage, and strength.
Clarity to see what matters. Courage to act despite uncertainty. Strength to stay steady through the process.
When I pause and call these words to mind, I feel them. My shoulders lift slightly. My breath deepens. I become more self-aware and I begin to feel the person these words describe. The key, however, is to call on these words until they become second nature. As with everything, practice makes progress.
Making It Real
The magic isn't in choosing the words, it's in what you do with them. Pause before a moment that matters. Call your three words to mind. Take a breath and feel into them. Some days you'll embody them fully, other days, you'll glimpse them. Both are progress.
Your Turn
What three words are calling to you right now? The ones that feel true to you and make you stand taller just by thinking them.
Sit with this question over the next few days and see what emerges.
Your answer might just surprise you.
